Intervention: Alcoholic Mother

September 14, 2007 / by liberaldude66

Intervention on A&E,
painful to watch,
never missed an episode;
that I'm aware of.

Caught,
on demand,
an alcoholic Mother with three great kids
and a worn out husband.

Hits so close to home,
I was in tears; had to take my glasses off,
those poor kids,
a good man in marriage, and a suspect Mother.

Subject whose name I can't recall,
married at 27; alcoholic at 41;
was the perfect "PTA Mom,"was the perfect Mom;
now she drinks mouthwash when she can't get vodka.

It all came together as she hit rock bottom,
the intervention lady usually does not have kids present,
but they were smart, aware and had a lot to say-and wept-as I did;
subject agreed to intervention and Betty Ford clinic,
has been sober since March 2007.

AMEN.

    Ahhhh, no Martin, I'm aware of EVERYTHING that goes on around here-unfortunately at time people just lie to get attention and as they say "what goes around comes around, payback's a biotch!" [GLARE][GLARE][GLARE]
